1. Overview
Spoolio respects intellectual property rights and complies with the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and equivalent copyright laws (EU CDSM Directive, UK CDPA, Canada Copyright Modernization Act, Australia Copyright Act). If you believe content available through the Service infringes your copyright, please follow the procedure below.
2. Designated copyright agent
Send DMCA notices and counter-notices to our designated agent:
Spoolio — DMCA Agent
Email: dmca@spoolio.ai
Subject line: "DMCA Notice" or "DMCA Counter-Notice" as appropriate.
3. Filing a DMCA takedown notice
Your notice must include all of the following (17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)):
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorised to act on their behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or a representative list if multiple works.
- Identification of the allegedly infringing material with enough detail to allow us to locate it — ideally the Spoolio URL, project ID, or video ID.
- Your contact information (name, address, telephone number, email address).
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
Incomplete notices may not be actionable. Misuse of the DMCA process — including submitting false claims — may result in liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).
4. How we respond
On receipt of a valid notice we will:
- Remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material;
- Notify the user who posted the material with a copy of the notice (we may redact your personal contact details);
- Make a record for our repeat-infringer policy (see "Repeat infringers" below).
5. Filing a counter-notice
If you believe your content was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may file a counter-notice. Include (17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3)):
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was removed and the location at which it appeared before removal.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address, and telephone number, plus a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district where you reside (or, if you reside outside the US, the District of Delaware), and that you will accept service of process from the complainant or their agent.
If we receive a valid counter-notice, we will forward it to the original complainant. The material may be restored within 10 to 14 business days unless we receive notice that the complainant has filed an action in court.
6. Repeat infringers
Spoolio terminates the accounts of users we determine to be repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances, consistent with 17 U.S.C. § 512(i).
7. Other jurisdictions
For copyright complaints under non-US laws (e.g. EU CDSM, UK CDPA, Canada Notice-and-Notice, Australia Safe Harbor), please submit a notice meeting the requirements of your local law to dmca@spoolio.ai. We process all good-faith complaints regardless of jurisdiction.
8. Voice and likeness complaints
If you believe a generated video uses your voice or face without consent — including via a voice clone or face reference — submit a report to trust@spoolio.ai with the subject line "Voice/Likeness Report." This route is faster than DMCA for non-copyright likeness and biometric claims (publicity rights, BIPA, GDPR Art. 9, etc.).
